About Our Team
Marin Ranch Camp staff
Michaele "Firefly" Cooper, Camp Director
Michaele has been involved in summer camp for her entire life. After 10 years as a camper she set out to be a camp counselor, then progressed to program specialist, assistant camp director, day camp director, food service manager and camp director. She joined the Marin Ranch Camp team as the Camp Director in 2013.
Michaele grew up going to a summer camp in the woods outside of Portland, Oregon, so she is most looking forward to sitting around the campfire once again while singing songs (and roasting some marshmallows, of course).

George Stratman, Ranch Manager
George has been working in Outdoor Education since 1986, and has held leadership positions in four different programs throughout the state. He possesses a multiple subject teaching credential, master’s degree in education administration, and administrative services credential.
A firm believer in doing what’s right for kids, George is dedicated to doing all he can to ensure that every student who visits Walker Creek Ranch has a positive and enriching experience. Likewise he is committed to bringing the “Walker Creek magic” to all of our guests. An avid hiker, he enjoys exploring the far corners of Walker Creek Ranch’s 1700 acres.
Patrick McLaughlin, Assistant Ranch Manager
Patrick has been working in youth and community development programs for close to 20 years. From serving in the Peace Corps and being a city planner to his years working in environmental and outdoor education programs, his mission has always been to serve communities and provide opportunities for others to grow, connect, and learn.
Patrick continues to realize this goal at Walker Creek Ranch. In his free time, Patrick enjoys traveling, gardening, practicing yoga, and playing outside.
Marin Ranch Camp is Marin County’s premier overnight adventure camp. We’re known for our guiding principles of Friendship, Adventure, Community, Tradition & Safety. We offer a fun and engaging sleep-away camp program where kids ages 7 - 17 can hike, swim, boat, explore and play. A place where children can be themselves while participating in traditional, good old-fashioned summer camp activities. Marin Ranch Camp is part of the Camp Doodles family.
