Life at Marin Ranch Camp

Register today to join the MRC tradition!

Each and every day at Marin Ranch Camp has a rhythm, but the actual activities vary from day to day. Here's an example of what you might do any given day:

7:30 am: Rise and shine

Get ready for a great day! If you're up to the challenge, you can get moving a little bit earlier and catch sight of the wildlife that's active in the early morning (deer, raccoons and birds are common sightings).

8:00 am: Breakfast

Today we're having pancakes with sausage and fresh fruit, but we've also got a cereal bar with lots of other options.

8:30 am: Kapers

A "kaper" is a chore we do at camp. Today's kaper is cleaning our cabin, so we have the chance to earn the Clean Cabin Award doled out by Madame Brooomhilda and Brigadier Sweep.

9:00 am: Morning Activities

With your cabin group, you'll do something different every day! Today we have archery, and then we'll head over to Arts & Crafts to make our costumes for tonight's evening activity.

Noon: Lunch

A fully loaded taco bar, with orange slices & a fresh garden salad.

12:45 pm: Siesta

Whew--it's been a busy morning! Let's take a break back in our cabin and write a letter home, telling our families all about it.

1:30 pm: Afternoon Activities: Adventure by Choice

Today is Choice Time! What do you want to fill your afternoon with? Swimming, kayaking, an adventure in the woods, a creek crawl, more archery, gaga, basketball, soccer, working in the garden, making friendship bracelets or creating something awesome in arts and crafts? It's up to you!

6:00 pm: Dinner

Is it dinner time already? Tonight is spaghetti with meatballs, red sauce, garlic bread and caesar salad.

7:00 pm: Free Play

Free play on the field is always a good time. Some are playing baseball or gaga ball, but we could start a game of volleyball, or just hang out at the crafts table.

8:00 pm: Evening activities

Each evening we do something different. Tonight we're having a LUAU! We'll be roasting tropical treats over the fire, learning to hula and doing the limbo! Don the costumes you made earlier today to really join the party!

9:00 pm: Cabin Time

Hanging out in the cabin before "lights out" is always a highlight of a camper's day. From talking about the day's adventures to playing cards with new friends, there's always something to do with your cabin group. Our younger campers will have lights-out around 9:30 pm, while our older campers hit the lights around 10:30 pm.

Bedtime

Every day must come to an end sometime. Good thing there's another day ahead of us at Marin Ranch Camp!
